YUKI IN THE POINTS AT QATAR
02 October 2004 - Rizla-Suzuki

YUKIO KAGAYAMA finished a superb 11th at today''s first ever Qatar MotoGP, the 15th round of the World Championship.

The Rizla Suzuki regular rider started from 19th on the grid on the powerful Suzuki GSV-R racer and was one of only 13-riders to finish the gruelling 22-lap race in the blistering heat of the desert.

Yuki was standing in for Kenny Roberts Jr who is recovering from injury. He had not ridden the latest version of the Suzuki GSV-R or used Bridgestone tyres before this weekend. He learnt quickly and was happy with a points scoring finish and is hoping to get into the top 10 next weekend when he continues his stand-in job for the team at the Malaysian GP.

Suzuki MotoGP racer John Hopkins finished 8th in the race, which was won by Honda''s Sete Gibernau. The next round of the MotoGP Championship takes place on Sunday 16th October.
