16 September 2006 - MotorSport Vision
Charity auction set to finish the season in style
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to try on the fastest boots ever to lap the Isle of Man TT? Fancy strutting your stuff in James Ellisons'' one-off Union Jack leathers from the Donington MotoGP or trying on Niall McKenzies'' silver AGV TiTech helmet for size? Well, you can now stop dreaming and start bidding thanks to the MCRCB and MotorSport Vision who have teamed up to host two auctions to raise money for the Chris Jones Memorial Fund (CJMF) on both the Saturday and Sunday (30 September - 1 October) of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship final at Brands Hatch. After the hugely successful charity cycle race at Cadwell Park, the CJMF continues to gather momentum in it''s aim to provide essential medical equipment for the BSB paddock and beyond; fundraising to purchase a mobile X-Ray facility to be used by the resident series medics, by holding two auctions in the Adrenalin X building, adjacent to the Kentagon Restaurant at Brands Hatch. Open to race fans and riders alike, the list of BSB and MotoGP memorabilia up for grabs is growing daily so keep checking back to www.brandshatch.co.uk for regular updates on lots including signed leathers, helmets, T-shirts and much more. Items that have already been confirmed include: · James Ellisons'' complete race kit worn only at this years British MotoGP round and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including his unique Union Jack leathers · John McGuinness'' boots as worn on his recording breaking lap of the Isle of Man TT as well as his trophy from the same race · Genuine Rizla Suzuki team shirt signed by former BSB champion John Reynolds, Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, Neil McKenzie and MotoGP ace Chris Vermeulen · Rizla shirt signed by 500cc Grand Prix legend Kevin Schwantz · The Steve Plater collection; his signed race helmet with Plater cap and rucksack · Limited edition James Toseland prints commissioned for the CJMF currently unsigned by the 2004 World Superbike Champion but the winning bidder will get a personalised autograph.
