AUCTION AT BRANDS HATCH TO GO AHEAD
13 September 2006 - Chris Jones Fund

Saturday 30th September & Sunday 1st October

The Chris Jones Memorial Fund is certainly picking up the pace. After an extremely successful night in Rotherham whereby an Auction was held in aid of the Fund and adding to that the CJMF Cycle Race at Cadwell Park, the Fund is certainly beginning to reach its target figure.

The monies raised will ALL be put back in towards the safety of the riders in the British Superbike Paddock and they will purchase essential medical equipment and necessary safety items to make the Racing Paddock a safer and more exciting place to be for everyone involved.

The last round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship is to be staged at Brands Hatch, Kent. Not only will the fiercely fought out Championship be decided but adding to that, the fans will be in for a treat or two. TWO Auctions will be staged at the AdrenalinX Building, situated adjacent to the Kentagon Bar.

As the Auction items come flooding in, the public will not only get the chance to view the Auction items but will be able to mingle with their heroes, as a number of the British Superbike riders will be present on the evening.

Each event will kick off between 6.30 and 6.45 PM with Fred Clarke and Larry ‘Scoop’ Carter helping out on stage Saturday night and other very special presenters currently being lined up for Sunday.

The CJMF raised over Ł22,000 at the Rotherham Superbowl in the quest for essential trackside medical equipment and are fully expecting the Brands weekend to eclipse this. CJMF’s Steve Brookes said ‘With such interest in supporting this cause, the expected turnout of stars and especially prizes will be superb as everyone wants to help. Collectors of special race memorabilia won’t want to miss this as we promise some very special gear. Goodwill in the paddock will ensure plenty more will turn up before things get going, we can’t wait!’

Items currently up for grabs include a signed Valentino Rossi cap, one of John McGuinness'' TT winning Trophies, various signed racing gear from Mackenzie, Hislop, Reynolds, Foggy, Richards, Hill, Laverty and other riders from around the BSB, WSBK and Moto GP Paddocks.
