SPEEDWAY 1

NEWPORT star Craig Watson is facing another operation to mend his upper left arm which he broke in a crash at Stoke in early May.

The Australian has had to shelve thoughts of a comeback this season and will have the opertation as soon as possible.

He said: ''It''s unbelievable because I am now back to square one. It''s a tough time at the moment and it can''t get any worse.''

SPEEDWAY 2

TONY Mole has confirmed that Workington Speedway is not on the market, nor has he received any offers for the club.

Several rumours have surfaced in recent weeks on the subject, but Comets owner Mole insists that no contact has been made to him.

He said: ''I can categorically say that there has been no offer for Workington since the one made and turned down last October.''
