SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 7TH SEPTEMBER
07 September 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

PETERBOROUGH boss Trevor Swales is backing his side to finish in a top two place - and get a home semi-final in the play-offs.

Panthers face key home meetings with Arena-Essex, Reading and Swindon in a week with their destiny in their own hands.

He said: ''My riders are very clear about what needs to be done. It''s down to us to go out and win all three meetings.''

SPEEDWAY 2

READING manager Jim Lynch hailed his side after seeing them demolish Wolverhampton 58-37 to go back second in the Elite League table.

It was one of the best performances of the season from a Bulldogs side who had lost at home to Coventry two days earlier.

Said Lynch: ''That was a great team performance and was a perfect response to Monday night - I couldn''t have asked any more of them.''
