SHERCO REVISES ITS 2T MODEL RANGE FOR 2007
05 September 2006 - Sherco
Trials 2007 models presentation
Sherco continues to wager like no other brand, on the 2T technology and develop that technology in actual competition which is directly transferred to the production models. In contrast to other brands, Sherco continues working on the development of the 2T Trials models, the most appreciated by the Trials enthusiasts, the 2T is the most efficient and most competitive option in the trials market and the one chosen most by competitive riders. Fruit of the full implication of the competitiveness of the 2T in actual competition is borne by the outstanding results that have been obtained by Albert Cabestany in the World Trials Championship and in the Spanish Trials Championship. The 2T has demonstrated that it is still very competitive in the highest levels of competition. The 2006 competition year has resulted in several significant improvements to the engine and chassis. PXC, the Sherco Trials Technical Department which is directed by Josep Rovira Paxau, had been responsible for developing the changes implemented in the competition machines and then reproducing them in the production models for the enjoyment of all the Sherco fans. Improvements in motor and chassis, direct by-products of the official motorcycle ridden in competition by Albert Cabestany. In the motor, the work that has been done results in achieving an even greater usable power band without compromising reliability. The actual thermodynamics have been improved. These engine improvements affect the 2.5 and 2.9 models only. A significant amount of work has been done on the chassis of the motorcycle which is common to all of the trials models from the 125cc up. Many of the components have been optimized for the best possible performance and highest quality level with efficient operation and reduced weight as an end result. The new chassis incorporates geometry changes that have been developed on the competition machine of Albert Cabestany. All of these chassis improvements are common to the compete range of Sherco “adult” motorcycles including the 1.25, 2.5 and 2.9. The launch of the new “07” Trials Models will take place immediately after the Andorra World Championship.
