31 August 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 WORKINGTON boss Graham Drury believes the signing of Alan Mogridge could help the Comets towards a play-off place. Mogridge, who retires at the end of the season, moved to Cumbria from Stoke earlier this month. Drury said: ''Not only is Moggo a key rider for us with his on-track scores, his presence in the pits area has also given the rest of the boys a lift.'' SPEEDWAY 2 SOMERSET manager Mick Bell is eagerly awaiting Friday''s challenge match against Elite League Swindon - which is expected to draw a big crowd to the Oak Tree Arena. The Robins will be bringing a strong team including Grand Prix stars Leigh Adams and Lee Richardson. Bell said: ''They are taking the fixture very seriously and it would be a terrific feather in our cap if we could beat them.''
