SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 29TH AUGUST
29 August 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 KING''S Lynn manager Rob Lyon is predicting a classic encounter when the Stars take on Sheffield this week in the Premier Trophy Final. Both clubs are expecting bumper crowds for the meetings at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday and Owlerton 24 hours later. Lyon said: ''We are now approaching the pinnacle of our season and I think the public will see two of the best matches for a long while.'' SPEEDWAY 2 SHEFFIELD promoter Neil Machin is happy to be cast in the role of underdogs ahead of the Premier Trophy Final. But the Owlerton chief says that the mood in the Tigers camp is upbeat after a fine win at Mildenhall last Sunday. Machin said: ''King''s Lynn remain the favourites but our boys will be really going for it. We feel confident and I''m sure there will be some great racing.''
