WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY NEWS
28 August 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway
WOLVERHAMPTON kept alive their hopes of a play-off place as with a hard fought 52-40 win over Poole at Monmore Green. On a night which saw both Belle Vue and Ipswich slip up, the Monmore men pounced to raise hopes of a top four finish and a place in the title deciding meetings next month. But Poole provided tough opposition and if they had enjoyed greater contributions from Polish duo Greg Walasek and Krzysztof Kasprzak they could have even won the meeting. Parrys International Wolves duo Peter Karlsson and Billy Hamill were on top form to provide the backbone of the scoring - but Swedish youngster Freddie Lindgren saw his total eroded by two falls. WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson 14, Billy Hamill 12, William Lawson 7+1, Christian Hefenbrock 6+1, Ronnie Correy 5+3, Fredrik Lindgren 5, Magnus Karlsson 3+1. POOLE: Bjarne Pedersen 13, Antonio Lindback 11+1, Greg Walasek 5, Craig Boyce 4, Krzysztof Kasprzak 3, Jonas Davidsson 3, Matt Wethers 1.
