SPEEDWAY 1

IPSWICH''S play-off hopes have been hit by an injury to skipper Chris Louis who fractured a collarbone at Arena-Essex.

Louis was taking a guest booking for Belle Vue in a re-arranged fixture, and will now miss the Witches'' busy programme this week.

Arena''s Mikael Max was concussed in the same meeting, but the Hammers still won to move to within one point of Oxford at the bottom of the table.

SPEEDWAY 2

MARK Lemon is likely to miss the rest of Stoke''s Bank Holiday programme after suffering from blurred vision at Somerset on Friday.

The Australian was able to take only three rides and is now set to miss home and away matches against Rye House.

Manager John Adams said: ''Racing on a speedway track with double vision is not the place to be, and he did the right thing in pulling out.''
