MATCH ABANDONED
23 August 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

PARRYS International Wolves will have to return to Wimborne Road later in the season after Wednesday''s Elite League match was abandoned after six heats.
A close contest was looking likely with the hosts holding a narrow 19-17 lead, but with the rain coming down there was a delay to see if things improved before a halt was called at around 8.45pm.

In fine conditions, the Pirates took a 5-1 in the first race but things then became much more difficult as Magnus Karlsson took Heat 2 and Ben Wilson took advantage of problems for Jonas Davidsson in third..

Billy Hamill moved past Krzysztof Kasprzak early in Heat 3 to split the Pirates, and then overcame Greg Walasek early in Heat 5 for third place behind race-winner Peter Karlsson.

Fredrik Lindgren out-trapped Bjarne Pedersen to win Heat 6 but by this stage the winning times were five seconds outside the optimum and there was no suprise when racing was halted.

POOLE: Bjarne Pedersen 5, Craig Boyce 3+2, Krzysztof Kasprzak 3, Antonio Lindback 3, Grzegorz Walasek 3, Tommy Allen 2, Jonas Davidsson 0.
WOLVES: Fredrik Lindgren 5, Magnus Karlsson 4+1, Peter Karlsson 4, Billy Hamill 3, Ben Wilson 1, Ronnie Correy 0, Christian Hefenbrock r/r.
