SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 22 AUGUST
22 August 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 COVENTRY skipper Scott Nicholls is urgently awaiting medical advice after breaking a collarbone in the Bees'' dramatic win over Peterborough. Nicholls tangled with Panthers skipper Hans Andersen on the first bend of the last race and is a major doubt for the weekend''s Czech Grand Prix. The injury is also a massive blow to his club who already have second heat-leader Rory Schlein on the sidelines with a broken leg. SPEEDWAY 2 POLISH youngster Karol Zabik has quit Peterborough citing ''unfulfilled arrangements'' on his website - although the club refute those suggestions. Zabik wants to concentrate on the World Under-21 Final and the Panthers have re-signed Piotr Swiderski to take his place. Manager Trevor Swales said: ''We had gone out of our way to help Karol so I don''t appreciate his comments and wish he would tell us what the problems were.''
