BMW’S SUPERBIKE ARRIVES IN DEALERSHIPS
17 September 2004 - BMW Motorrad GB

Motorcyclists nationwide can breathe a sigh of relief as BMW Motorrad’s first superbike – the K1200 S – is finally launched in all of its 36 UK and Southern Ireland dealerships on Saturday 25 September 2004.

Each BMW Motorrad dealership will host a unique and special celebratory day full of activities and displays to welcome the latest BMW model into the BMW Motorrad family. Bike handling skills, rock climbing and track events are a taster of some of the more physical events planned by some dealers, not to mention plasma screens showing the K1200 S in action on the Nürburgring test track in Germany.

First displayed in Munich at its international press launch in July, the K1200 S was also test-ridden by 30 lucky competition winners from around the world at the legendary Nürburgring racetrack earlier this month. It has also had its public debut at the Intermot International Motorcycle Show in Munich this week.

Now, the speculation and suspense can be drawn to a close as BMW Motorrad customers and sports bike fans everywhere get the opportunity to see the eagerly-awaited new model and make up their own minds. They won’t be disappointed.

The K1200 S is BMW’s most innovative motorcycle yet. Here is a sportsbike that is light and agile but extremely fast (167 bhp), with unique road-specific suspension, rider friendly ergonomics and optional class-leading safety-orientated ABS braking system. It will soon be arriving at all BMW Motorrad dealerships in a choice of two colour schemes – Indigo Blue Metallic/Alpine White, and Sun Yellow non-Metallic/White Aluminium/Dark Graphite Metallic

The wait is over.
