Amendements aux Règlements

The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Chairman), Claude Danis (FIM), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), in the presence of Mr Paul Butler (Secretary of the meeting), in a meeting held yesterday at the circuit of Brno, unanimously decided to introduce the following modifications to the Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations – application as from 1st January 2007.

1.15 Practice

1.15.1 Practice Restrictions

For the purpose of practice restrictions the year is divided into two parts.

The “Season” is defined as the period starting 13 days before the first race of the year and ending 4 days after the last race of the year, both dates being inclusive. The Season does not include “Breaks”. A Break is defined as two consecutive week-ends where events are not scheduled. The period of the Break extends from 09h00 on the fourth day after the Grand Prix until the following Grand Prix.

The “Winter” is defined as the rest of the year, i.e. starting 5 days after the last race of the season and ending 14 days before the first race of the subsequent season, both dates being inclusive. The Winter does not include the “Pause”. The Pause is a period starting on the 1st December of one year and finishing on the 20th January of the following year, both dates being inclusive.

1.15.1.1 MotoGP Class

Practice with machines eligible for the MotoGP class is forbidden:

i) During the “Season” at any circuit included in the Grand Prix calendar of the current year with the following exceptions:

a) Practice included in the schedule of the Events.

b) Practice during the three days immediately following an event at the circuit at which the event has taken place.

c) Any activity authorised by the Race Direction.

d) Manufacturers and constructors who supply machines to the MotoGP class may, before the 20th January of each year, designate and inform the Race Direction of one Grand Prix circuit as their testing circuit at which they may practice during the Season and during the Breaks with their MotoGP class machines during a maximum of 30 days or part thereof, but not with their designated riders or with riders designated by other teams and not as from 14 days before the race scheduled for that circuit. The schedule of such tests and any subsequent amendments must be notified to the Race Direction.

ii) During the “Winter” at any circuit with the following exceptions:

a) At a maximum of seven official tests organised by Dorna/IRTA at Grand Prix circuits included in the calendars of the preceding or following year, each test being of maximum three days duration.

b) At any circuit not included in the Grand Prix calendar of the preceding or following year.

c) Manufacturers and constructors who supply machines to the MotoGP class may, before the conclusion of the last event of each year, designate and inform the Race Direction of one Grand Prix circuit as their testing circuit at which they may practice during the Winter with their MotoGP class machines at any time, excluding during the Pause.

d) Furthermore, during the Winter, no single rider may participate in more than eight tests, each of a maximum of three days, at any circuits.

La Commission Grand Prix, composée de MM. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Président), Claude Danis (FIM), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) et Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), en présence de M. Paul Butler (Secrétaire de la réunion), réunie hier au circuit de Brno, a décidé à l’unanimité d’effectuer les modifications suivantes aux Règlements du Championnat du Monde des Grands Prix de Courses sur Route – entrée en vigueur dès le 1er janvier 2007.

1.15 Essais

1.15.1 Restrictions des essais

En ce qui concerne les restrictions aux essais, l’année est divisée en deux périodes.

La « Saison » est définie comme la période commençant 13 jours avant la première course de l’année et terminant 4 jours après la dernière course de l’année, y compris ces deux jours. La Saison n’inclut pas les « Intervalles ». Un Intervalle est défini par deux week-ends consécutifs sans manifestation prévue. La période de l’intervalle va de 9h00 le 4ème jour après le Grand Prix jusqu’au Grand Prix suivant.

L’ « Hiver » est défini comme le reste de l’année, c’est-à-dire commençant 5 jours après la dernière course de la saison et terminant 14 jours avant la première course de la saison suivante, y compris ces deux jours. L’Hiver n’inclut pas la « Pause ». La Pause est la période qui commence le 1er décembre d’une année et termine le 20 janvier de l’année suivante, y compris ces deux jours.

1.15.1.1 Classe MotoGP

Des essais avec des machines de la classe MotoGP sont interdits :

i) Pendant la « Saison » sur tout circuit faisant partie du calendrier Grand Prix de l’année en cours, sauf exceptions suivantes :

a) Essais faisant partie du programme des manifestations.

b) Essais pendant les trois jours suivant immédiatement une manifestation, sur le circuit où s’est déroulé cette manifestation.

c) Toute activité autorisée par la Direction de Course.

d) Les constructeurs fournissant les machines de la classe MotoGP peuvent, avant le 20 janvier de chaque année, désigner, et en informer la Direction de Course, un circuit de Grand Prix comme leur circuit d’essais où ils peuvent faire des essais pendant la saison et les Intervalles avec leurs machines de la classe Motogp pendant un maximum de 30 jours ou une partie de cette période, mais pas avec leurs pilotes sous contrat ni avec des pilotes engagés par d’autres teams ni dans le délai de 14 jours avant la course prévue sur ce circuit. Le programme de ces essais ainsi que tout amendement éventuel doivent être communiqués à la Direction de Course.

ii) Pendant l’ « Hiver » sur tout circuit sauf exceptions suivantes :

a) Pour un maximum de sept séances officielles d’essais organisés par Dorna/IRTA sur les circuits de Grand Prix figurant sur les calendriers de l’année précédente ou suivante, chaque séance ayant une durée maximale de trois jours.

b) Sur tout circuit non inclus sur le calendrier Grand Prix de l’année précédente ou suivante.

c) Les constructeurs fournissant les machines de la classe MotoGP peuvent, avant la fin de la dernière manifestation de chaque année, désigner, et en informer la Direction de Course, un circuit de Grand Prix comme leur circuit d’essais où ils peuvent faire des essais pendant l’Hiver avec leurs machines de la classe Motogp à tout moment, sauf pendant la Pause.

d) Par ailleurs, pendant l’Hiver, aucun pilote ne peut participer à plus de huit séances d’essais, chacune d’au maximum trois jours, sur n’importe quel circuit.
