19 August 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG
Czech Grand Prix / Brno 2nd Qualifying
Hiroshi Aoyama has rewarded the conscientious development activities of his team with a third place on the grid for the 12th race of the season, the Czech Grand Prix. Following a fantastic beginning of the season and the first ever victory in the 250 class, the team supporting Race Director Harald Bartol has used the summer break for further development. FRR KTM 250s now include fuel injection and this represents one of the most important new developments.. The 24-year-old Japanese has shown that this was worthwhile work by finishing third fastest ahead of the Czech Grand Prix in Brno. The one-year younger Manuel Poggiali occupies 12th place on the grid for Sunday’s race. Hiroshi Aoyama #4 Red Bull KTM GP 250 – 3rd position– 2’03.038 “I must thank my team so much. They used the summer break to develop many new parts for our KTM and the bike is working much better here in Brno. I can feel very important improvements with the engine and it delivers more power. But today was practice and the race will be tomorrow. Nevertheless I’m confident, because my lap times were consistently fast.” Manuel Poggiali # 54 Red Bull KTM GP 250 – 12th position– 2’04.778 “I still do not feel confident with the front of the machine but we’ll work hard until we find a good solution for me. Of course it is frustrating to go into the race from the third row when my team mate is starting from front row. But nevertheless I will try as hard as possible for a good race result.” Circuit: Dry /33°C Air temperature: 26°C
