BMW F800 S LESSONS FROM BMW
25 August 2006 - BMW Motorrad GB

BMW Motorrad’s acclaimed F800 S sports middleweight machine has now been added to the fleet at the company’s Rider Training facility in south Wales, so that riders have the opportunity to experience this exciting 85 hp parallel-twin motorcycle.

The F800 S is now available to anyone wishing to participate in the Refresher and Advanced courses at BMW’s new Rider Training centre.

The F800 S is perfect for riders starting out in biking. Since its launch in May this year the F800 S has received a huge amount of praise for its user-friendly performance and grin-inducing characteristics. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that BMW Motorrad’s very own training centre would make use of the new machine that has been lauded for its practical ergonomics, excellent road holding and handling capabilities, and low centre of gravity.

Both the Refresher and Advanced courses are designed to provide further riding tuition for all levels of rider. Due to the ‘one on one’ approach it is possible for the instructor to tailor the day’s riding to individual requirements, making it perfect for those who have just passed their test as well as more experienced motorcyclists who need to ‘brush up’ on their riding skills.

The F800 S is incredibly easy, yet rewarding to ride, making it perfect for all levels of rider. The 800cc twin-cylinder engine produces 85 hp – plenty of power to keep experienced riders entertained but not enough to intimidate novice or new riders.

The F800’s chassis has been developed specifically to offer ultimate stability, but not at the expense of performance when the roads turn twisty. There are also plenty of features that make the F800 S the perfect first bike such as the low-maintenance belt drive, a fuel tank located under the seat to keep weight as low as possible, and the option of ABS anti-lock brakes.

The Refresher and Advanced courses are available to any rider who has passed their full motorcycle test and are available for either one or two days duration. Prices are £150 for the one-day course and £300 for the two-day course. These prices include ‘one on one’ tuition with a fully qualified instructor, use of a BMW F800 S bike, rider equipment and fuel.
