SPEEDWAY 1

POLISH star Wieslaw Jagus won the Qualifying Final event in Vetlanda to book himself a place in the 2007 Grand Prix series.

The other qualifiers were Rune Holta and Hans Andersen, with Peter Karlsson missing out in the Final despite dropping just one point from his first five rides.

Chris Harris was the best-placed British rider in fifth place as the non-qualifiers await news of the nominated places.

SPEEDWAY 2

POOLE promoter Matt Ford has hit out at a lack of commitment from members of his Poole side with the club having endured a nightmare week.

Rider absences have hit the Pirates'' play-off hopes as they have lost five consecutive matches in six days.

Ford said: ''I can''t begin to explain how low I feel. Attitudes are going to have to change if riders are looking for contracts next season.''

SPEEDWAY 3

ALAN Mogridge returns to Stoke with Workington on Sunday still angry at the circumstances of his departure from Loomer Road.

Mogridge said: ''I feel pained about the way it was done, it seems like I was the last one in the speedway world to find out.''

Promoter Dave Tattum said: ''I never like telling a rider he is released, but we had to act and I still feel we did everything correctly.''
