HUG THAT BIKE!
24 August 2006 - Skidmarx

New Skidmarx Huggers for ’06 Models

Skidmarx have extended their range of huggers to cover many of the key 2006 model big capacity motorcycles ahead of the manufacturers*. Latest additions include the 200bhp Kawasaki ZZ-R1400, Suzuki Bandit 1200K6 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. Huggers are a styling accessory with a practical side, as they enhance the look of the bike whilst offering under-body, shock and linkage protection. The wide rear tyres on these big powerful machines can kick up a lot of dirt as they munch through the miles so the rear end needs plenty of protection.

All Skidmarx huggers are manufactured in the UK from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic = ‘fibreglass’), which is not only surprisingly light but can also be manufactured in many exciting shapes. The Bandit 1200 hugger has a distinctive integral chain guard with a cut-away section so that the chain may be inspected and a lower section that bolts below the swing arm to provide extra coverage. The ZZ-R1400 hugger also has a chain guard moulded into it and has two long ‘legs’ so that it can fitted neatly to existing bolt holes. Meanwhile the ZX-10R version is shaped to complement the bike’s lines and is even available in lime green. All Skidmarx huggers are designed to bolt directly to existing mounting points without modification and are supplied with all necessary fittings.

Skidmarx produce their huggers in black, although blue, red and lime green options are available on request, with prices from £65.50 inc. VAT. There are also carbon fibre options for most popular models, from £119.95. Most other popular motorcycles are covered – full details are available on the web site or in the free colour catalogue.
