SPEEDWAY 2 EASTBOURNE are almost certain of qualification for the end of season Craven Shield competition. The Eagles are 17-points ahead of last year''s winners Oxford in ninth place which is the final qualifying spot. British Speedway bosses have made the draw for the three groups, with the winners of each group going through to a three-team final. Eastbourne will face Ipswich and Wolverhampton, whilst Poole, Reading and Swindon do battle in another group and Belle Vue, Coventry and Peterborough are drawn together. Dates are currently being discussed between the various promoters for the tournament which was voted a big hit last October.
