WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY: KARLSSON QUOTES + SHIELD DRAW
15 August 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

WOLVERHAMPTON skipper Peter Karlsson is looking for the team to keep up their recent momentum in two important away matches this week.

Karlsson said: ''We''ve got six away matches to go in the League and if we can perhaps get two wins from them that would be good. Peterborough and Coventry will both be hard but we''ve got to try our best to get some points from them.
''I always look forward to going back to Peterborough. It''s always been a tough trip in the history of Wolves, but maybe they will be a little off their guard and we can surprise them.''
Parrys International Wolves are at Peterborough on Thursday and Coventry 24-hours later.

CHRIS Van Straaten is confident of Wolverhampton''s chances in the Craven Shield after seeing his side drawn against Eastbourne and Ipswich.
The tournament will feature the top nine clubs in three groups with the winners of each section going through to a three-team final.
Eastbourne are almost certain of qualification as they are 17-points ahead of last year''s winners Oxford in ninth place... the final qualifying spot.
Poole, Reading and Swindon do battle in another group and Belle Vue, Coventry and Peterborough are drawn together.

Van Straaten said: ''On paper we are more than a match for Eastbourne and Ipswich and our team will be determined to make it through to the final.''
Dates are currently being discussed between the various promoters for the tournament which was voted a big hit last October.
