SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
10 August 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 THEO Pijper is hopeful of being fit to race for Edinburgh in their vital Premier League clash with Mildenhall on Friday. The Monarchs skipper sustained knee ligament damage in a crash at Berwick last weekend, and is due to see a specialist. Pijper said: ''I feel confident myself that I can ride, but I will have to see what they say on Thursday before I can be sure.'' SPEEDWAY 2 ALAN Mogridge says he is still open to offers of a team place elsewhere - despite admitting to a sense of relief when he lost his position at Stoke. The Potters replaced Mogridge, who is retiring at the end of the season, with Paul Thorp. Mogridge said: ''If the right offer comes in I''ll consider going somewhere else but I''d like to wish Stoke well for the rest of the season.''
