TRIAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GREAT BRITAIN (HAWKSTONE PARK)
Albert, places third, but continues to trim points from those ahead of him in the provisional standing Albert Cabestany has gained the podium for the third consecutive time in the Trials Championship of the World. This round was held in Great Britain at the world famous Hawkstone Park. This venue confronted the riders with some complicated conditions because of the intermittent rain which constantly changed the sections. Even so Albert Cabestany was able to finish in front of local idol Dougie Lampkin, finishing a very respectable third place that places him only six points behind the British rider in the overall standings with only two rounds remaining in this year’s championship. The equality of the riders leading the standings has been incredible, and even the last section did not determine the winner of this round, the top three riders were separated by only one point (32, 33 and 34 points), this shows the incredible competitiveness of the contenders. Albert Cabestany: ''It was an incredibly competitive race, and the truth is that I remain with a certain bitter regret that I missed the outright victory by only two points. Third place in the overall classification is still within our reach, I am going to do everything possible to obtain it.” G.P.
