SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 6TH AUGUST
06 August 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 BERWICK''S revival gathered pace with a 58-37 win over Edinburgh to move the Bandits right into top eight contention. Stanislaw Burza scored his first maximum in British speedway, and Jacek Rempala dropped just one point in a fine debut. Promoter Peter Waite said: ''Things have really clicked into place for us and we will now be making sure we keep the pressure on the teams above us.'' SPEEDWAY 2 STOKE star Mark Lemon said the Potters'' narrow home win over Sheffield was just as significant as their shock success at Owlerton earlier in the week. Lemon brought the Loomer Road men home to a three-point victory by winning the last race. He said: ''We showed a lot of character to win this one as Sheffield were really pumped up after we beat them on Thursday.''
