SPEEDWAY 1

WORLD title favourite Jason Crump has been told he has no broken bones following last week''s crash at Coventry.

Crump feared he had fractured his left heel, but tests have shown that the damage is limited to his ankle ligaments.

Crump said: ''My ankle is easier than it was at the start of the week. It''s still very painful but I am hoping to get back in the gym.''

SPEEDWAY 2

STOKE turned the Premier League formbook upside down with an astonishing victory at title-chasing Sheffield.

The Potters had never previously triumphed at Owlerton but clinched their 45-44 win when the Tigers'' Kyle Legault crashed heavily in the last race.

Stoke boss John Adams said: ''It was an absolutely brilliant night and the riders worked their socks off. Very few teams run Sheffield close here.''

SPEEDWAY 3

KING''S Lynn''s re-arranged Premier Trophy semi-final against Workington will go ahead on Friday - after a dramatic change of plan.

The Stars had initially announced they would bring forward the visit of Rye House, but further discussions saw the Comets returning.

Promoter Buster Chapman said: ''We would like to thank [Rye promoter] Len Silver for his help and he is happy that we have been able to get Workington here.''
