STEVE COLLEY TO HEADLINE
04 August 2006 - Dirt Bike Show
Preparations for the Dirt Bike Show moved up a gear with the announcement that Steve Colley will headline the Live Action.
The current British Solo Trials Champion and Isle of Man Ambassador for sport is returning to Stoneleigh Park for the first time in three years and the man they call ‘Mr Showtime’ is always a crowd puller thanks to his reputation for delivering all-entertainment indoor spectaculars. The Live Action Arena has proved increasingly popular with Show-goers since its introduction in 2004 and last year approximately 8,000 visitors enjoyed 30 minutes of non-stop action featuring trials, mini bikes and superbikes. Colley will be supported by some of the hottest mini bike talent and the organisers are currently finalising details of the format, possibly with a competitive element. “Feedback from our research consistently shows around 90% rating the Live Action as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’”, explains a spokesman for Promoto, the Dirt Bike Show organisers. “We recognise that it’s important to keep the entertainment looking fresh while retaining the popular elements.” All of the major Japanese manufacturers, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha will be exhibiting in an official capacity, alongside significant European players including KTM, Gas Gas, Aprilia and for the first time, BMW. The very latest in quad technology will be in evidence, thanks to Arctic Cat and Polaris, with 4-wheelers from the Japanese ‘big four’ very much in evidence too. All of this adds up to the sixth Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh-Park breaking through the 15,000 square metre mark, making it the UK’s BIGGEST EVER off-road show to date. The 2006 Dirt Bike Show will run at Stoneleigh Park from Thursday 16th - Sunday 19th November. For the latest news and information, visit the web site.
