SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 31 JULY
31 July 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 OXFORD promoter Aaron Lanney believes that this will be a vital week in his club''s quest to climb off the foot of the Elite League table. The Cheetahs face three meetings in four days, including a basement battle with fellow strugglers Arena-Essex on Wednesday. Lanney said: ''We showed by taking all three points against Eastbourne that we''ve hit form, and I believe we are more than capable of winning these matches.'' SPEEDWAY 2 STOKE promoter Dave Tattum has dropped a clear hint that he is considering making changes to the Potters'' line-up. The Staffordshire club slipped to the bottom of the Premier League with a 17-point home defeat against Glasgow at the weekend. Tattum said: ''If the riders think there is a comfort zone here, they are very much mistaken. Our supporters and sponsors were let down on Saturday.''
