BMF DIRECTOR STAYS
26 July 2006 - BMF

Following a successful appeal to the BMF’s Council on Saturday, Don Lewis, excluded from holding BMF office earlier in the year by the BMF’s Disciplinary Committee, has been reinstated as the BMF’s Director of Administration.

The BMF Council also voted to reconsider at their next meeting the decisions taken in relation to the disciplinary charges against former Chairman Mike Williamson who has also been excluded from office.

Speaking after the meeting BMF Chairman Anna Zee said: “This has been a difficult period for the BMF but my thanks go to the Disciplinary Committee, its chairman, and to the members of Council for their professional approach and hard work in bringing this matter to a conclusion. I hope we can now put all of this behind us and go forward to concentrate on riders’ rights.''

For his part Don Lewis said: ''The past six months have been a difficult time for me but I am pleased that my name has been cleared and I can now again take up the post to which I was elected and continue to work hard for the BMF and for motorcycling. I thank Anna Zee for taking over and doing such a good job as Chairman and my especial thanks are due to Sharon Nash for all her hard and very effective work as Director of Administration. It is good to know that the BMF has strength in depth.''
