PACKED GRIDS AND TIMETABLE FOR BRANDS HATCH BMCRC MEETING
25 July 2006 - MotorSport Vision

Local riders aim for success with over 40 races on schedule

This weekend, the British Motor Cycle Racing Club makes its third visit to Brands Hatch this season with a packed schedule of races, all of which should feature a full field of competitors

Following with the BMCRC’s new format for club racing, started earlier in the year, there are more racing classes than in previous years with the aim of providing better entertainment for spectators. There will be a full programme of racing bringing together 12 classes in a schedule of more than 40 races.

Erith’s Rob Elsmere leads the local charge in the Powerbike class, while Maidstone’s Steve Mercer will be defending his championship lead in the Stocksport and Forza Xtreme races.

Fans of three-wheelers will welcome the return of the Sidecar Championship races. Local teams to look out for here include Maidstone’s Roger Body and Dudley Tomlinson, who will be defending their second place in the Super Sidecar Championship. Swanley racer Jack Sim, currently riding high in the Clubman 600 series, is likely to be a big points scorer at his local circuit, and in the Rookie 600 division Dartford’s Mark Gomersall will take to the grid on board his GSXR Suzuki.

Top Superbike 400 contender Greville Ball will make another appearance in the Thunderbike category. The Hever rider is heading for the top of this series, but his main aim for the weekend is to defend his championship lead in the Superbike 400 class. Here he will face Swanley’s Gary Fry, Sevenoaks’s Simon Lowes and Maidstone’s Jodie Duffill amongst others.

With Yamaha Past Masters and BMZRC 250 MZ also on a bill which includes 23 races on the Sunday, the BMCRC should live up to its reputation for providing top-class racing action.

Tickets for the British Motor Cycle Racing Club meeting at Brands Hatch will be available on the gate, and are priced at £12 for adults, with children aged 12 and under admitted free.
