WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
12 September 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

WOLVERHAMPTON need to beat Peterborough by more than 13-points on Monday if they are to become mathematically certain of second spot and a home play-off draw.

Boss Peter Adams insists his side will ''go for the jugular'' as the Monmore men look to enhance their chances of regaining the championship they won two years ago. Adams said: ''It''s a tall order but we''ll be going for it in a big way, we areally do want to finish the job against Peterborough without having to worry about what Ipswich do. ''By my reckoning we need to average 3.8 points per race to be there or there abouts and I see no reason why we cannot do that, but then again there is always the tactical rules available when points count for double which could hold us back. ''We will not underestimate Peterborough, they have riders who can go very well around our place and we will need to be at it from the start. It''s a big night for us and there is no room for error, either in the way we race or with the mechanical side of things.'' In-form Simon Stead is called into the Wolves side at reserve which should strengthen their claims for the three-points.

WOLVES: Mikael Max, Freddie Lindgren, Sam Ermolenko, Daniel Nermark R/R, David Howe, Simon Stead, Adam Skornicki.

PETERBOROUGH: Gary Havelock, Ales Dryml, Lukas Dryml, Henning Bager, Lee Richardson, Norbert Magosi, Ricky Ashworth. *WOLVES duo Mikael Max and David Howe were left frustrated when the Elite League Riders'' Championship at Poole was postponed on Sunday afternoon.
