NEMCRC Club Championships Round 3 – Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July 2006

Round three of the popular North East Motor Cycle Racing Club championship series takes place at Croft Circuit near Darlington this forthcoming weekend with another capacity field set to battle out the various classes.

Following a successful 2005 season where the club held a couple rounds at East Fortune near Edinburgh, they have once again followed this format for 2006 but given the high speed arena of Croft, the action is expected to be as hot as the recent temperatures around the full international 2.127 mile circuit.

As usual there is a healthy Scottish contingent entered and a number of marauders from North of the border are expected to challenge for major honours but given it’s the last chance that regular competitors in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship paddock could get some last minute testing before next month’s visit, perhaps one or two well known names could be on the late-entry list!

Locals expected to do well will include Chester le Street’s Dave Bell (Kawasaki Newcastle ZX-10 & ZXR600) who is hoping to be back on track after he was sidelined due to spill during a practice session at the Isle of Man TT. Andrew Bennett from Stockton on Tees aboard the Acklam Conservatories backed Suzuki GSXR 1000 usually figures well, as does Angus Green (Honda 600) from Stocksfield.

Andrew Baines (Holiways Aprilia) is a newcomer from Darlington and will be joined by usual Sound of Thunder fast men such as Ian Myers (Ducati749), Gary Hamilton (Aprilia Mille) and look out too for Jamie Ferguson from Stockton in the F125 and young Tynesider Joe Burns in the 125GP.

Practice gets underway at 9.30 on Saturday with racing immediately after and the action starts at noon on Sunday. Adult admission is just £10.00 on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days.

BENNETTS BRITISH SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP - ONLINE BOOKING FACILITY

Whilst sales of advance sale discounted tickets have now been withdrawn, Croft Circuit has on sale, as of today, practice, qualifying and race day admission tickets for the forthcoming round ten of Bennetts British Superbike Championship which makes a return visit to Croft over the weekend of August 11/12/13th

With the championship precariously poised after the drama of the last three rounds, record crowds are again expected and by purchasing tickets in advance, it will speed up entry through the turnstiles, thus meaning queues will be kept to a minimum.

Visitors can purchase tickets from the circuit office during normal office hours or for ease, why not book on line at www.croftcircuit.co.uk whereby tickets will be despatched around two weeks prior to the meeting.

Adult admission costs £5.00 on Friday, £12.00 on Saturday and £25.00 on Sunday with a weekend combined ticket priced at £32.00 and limited Grandstand availability at £8.00. Accompanied Children aged 15 and under are admitted FREE. Further details and information from Croft Circuit on 01325 721815.
