SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 22 JULY
22 July 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

GREAT Britain boss Neil Middleditch has called up former Grand Prix star Chris Louis for tonight''s world cup final with Australia, Sweden and Denmark at Reading.

Louis comes in for Simon Stead and Middleditch admitted it was a tough decision.

''Simon didn''t make starts in the race-off and at this level you can''t afford that,'' he said. ''Chris Louis is a trapper and hopefully he will show me that on Saturday.''

BRITISH Speedway bosses are urging fans to keep hold of their rain-off tickets for the Premier League Pairs.

Fans will now have the option of using their ticket for the Four Team Tournament at Workington on August 20 - or the re-arranged pairs event at Glasgow.

Workington boss Graham Drury said: ''British Speedway needs to work closely with the fans and this is a gesture of goodwill.''
