SPEEDWAY 1

GREAT Britain will face Poland, Denmark and the USA in Thursday''s world cup race-off at Reading.

Sweden were the winners of the second qualifier in their own country with 56-points and go straight to Saturday''s final, also in Reading, with Australia.

They edged out Denmark on 53, USA scored 39 and Czech Republic 7. The top two from the race-off will make it through to the final.

SPEEDWAY 2

BRITISH skipper Scott Nicholls insists his side can still go on and win the world cup.
Nicholls will lead his side into the race-off at Reading on Thursday looking for a top two place to qualify for the final.

The Coventry man said: ''We know it''s going to be tough but the determination and form we showed in Poland on Sunday puts us in good heart. We can still win this.''

YOUNG GUNS INDIVIDUAL at Poole 7.30

THURSDAY JULY 20:
WORLD CUP RACE-OFF: Great Britain v Poland v Denmark v USA - Reading 7pm
PREMIER LEAGUE: Redcar v Stoke 7.30, Sheffield v Workington 7.45

FRIDAY JULY 21:
PREMIER LEAGUE: Edinburgh v Berwick 7.30, Somerset v Glasgow 7.30
CONFERENCE LEAGUE: Boston v Plymouth 7.30
BRITISH UNDER-15 CHAMPIONSHIP: Plymouth 7.30

SATURDAY JULY 22:
WORLD CUP FINAL: Reading 7pm
PREMIER LEAGUE: Berwick v Redcar 7pm, Mildenhall v Newport 6pm, Rye House v
Glasgow 7pm, Stoke v Newcastle 7.30, Workington v Sheffield 7pm
CONFERENCE LEAGUE: Mildenhall v Newport (follows PL fixture)
