WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY NEWS
18 July 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

THERE''S plenty of Wolverhampton interest in tonight''s speedway world cup event in Sweden.

Current team members Billy Hamill, Fredrik Lindgren, Peter Karlsson and Tomas Suchanek are all involved alongside club assets Sam Ermolenko, Mikael Max and Nicki Pedersen.

The winners will go straight through to the world cup final to join Australia at Reading on Saturday, with the nations finishing second and third joining Poland and Great Britain in Thursday''s race-off - also at Reading.

Hamill, representing USA, said: ''It looks a pretty awesome line up and we will be giving it everything to get to the final.

''I ''ducked out'' of the Grand Prix a few years ago through a lack of sponsorship so it will be good to be ''playing'' with the big boys again in the SWC. We fear no one and will be giving it our best shot for sure.''

USA (Red): Greg Hancock (capt), Billy Janniro, Sam Ermolenko, Brent Werner, Billy Hamill.

SWEDEN (Blue): Antonio Lindback, Fredrik Lindgren, Andreas Jonsson (capt), Mikael Max, Peter Karlsson.

CZECH REPUBLIC (White): Adrian Rymel, Bo Brhel (capt), Tomas Suchanek, Zdenek Simota, Josef Franc.

DENMARK (Yellow): Nicki Pedersen (capt), Charlie Gjedde, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Hans Andersen, Bjarne Pedersen.

PETER Adams insists the season is still very much alive - despite a low league position!
The Parrys International Wolves manager is refusing to give up hope of a top four finish and a place in the end of season play-offs.

''It''s my job to make the riders understand how vital the rest of the season is to us,'' said Adams.

''They''ll read a league table and think it''s all over, but it''s not. There is still a chance for us to get into the top four for a number of reasons.

''We''ve raced two less home meetings than away, we''ve contested only seven bonus points when teams above us have done 10, 11 or 12.

''And the matches in hand mean we have to win every remaining home meeting and hope we can pick up some away wins.''
