NEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED BY MOTOR CYCLE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (MCI) The Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) has launched a new, interactive, information rich and easy to use website at www.mcia.co.uk. The Association has created a site that is not only targeted to its Members, but also a valuable source of information to the Press, Government, Local authorities and members of the Public. The ‘Members only’ section facilitates easy access to all services and includes updates on the Association’s activities including events and committees allowing them to access and offer feedback to agendas and minutes on-line. MCI members can expect to find information on technical issues, research, statistics and safety. Government and Local Authorities will be able to keep abreast of the MCI’s activities and download useful toolkits on how to create and promote better environments for motorcyclists in their area. Information is available on consultations, policy statements, public affairs campaigns, All Party Parliamentary Group activity, National Motorcycle Committee, Security , Setting up Off Road Practice Tracks, Reducing Noise from Powered Two Wheelers and Introducing Bikesafe into Your Area. The Press area will contain information packs on MCI activity, press releases with back dated copies, information on MCI Events throughout the year and a photo library. ‘Evolutions’, the MCI’s newsletter is now online and back copies will be available. Other useful links and contacts include an events diary, committee updates, FAQ’s and MCI Board and staff contact information. The site has aims to be the Industry’s primary source of motorcycling information. Links to other motorcycling sites provide opportunities for further information to be sourced without trawling through search engines. The site will be listed on major search engines ensuring that anyone wishing to gain information on motorcycling in the UK will be able to access the relevant information easily. The site will also be a hive of information for the public on how to get started on two wheels, what to ride, how to get involved in Off Road or Road Racing in the UK. John Hyde, MCI Marketing Manager said “The site will be a useful resource for anyone wishing to find out more about the UK Industry, from members of the public to Local Authorities and the Government.
