SPEEDWAY 1 AN inspirational display from Jason Crump saw Australia become the first team to qualify for the World Cup Final. The 2001 and 2002 winners edged out Great Britain and hosts Poland by a single point in the first round with Crump scoring a 15-point maximum. Leigh Adams added 13, and a determined Crump said: ''We have got the old team back together and we want that trophy.'' SPEEDWAY 2 CAPTAIN Scott Nicholls says the Race-Off holds no fears after Great Britain narrowly missed out on automatic qualification for the World Cup Final. Britain finished just one point behind Australia in Sunday''s first event and therefore race at Reading on Thursday. Nicholls said: ''We can still win this. Hopefully we will have plenty of support at Reading and if we get to the Final we can pull it off.''
