WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY NEWS
13 July 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

Elite League: IPSWICH 53 WOLVES 43

PETER Karlsson''s stunning display kept Wolves in contention for the bonus point as their patched-up side lost by ten at Foxhall.

Despite being less than fully fit, the skipper saw off most of what Ipswich could throw at him, only having to give best in his fourth outing during a stern battle with Piotr Protasiewicz and Mark Loram.

However, Karlsson''s only consistent support came from Fredrik Lingdren who maintained his form from Cowley on Wednesday on his way to paid 14 - both Swedes adding three points to their totals by way of winning tactical rides.

Lindgren took the flag on two occasions and was also unlucky in Heat 8 when left with nowhere to go on the first bend by Kim Jansson in a shock home 5-1 which put the Witches 12 points clear and in control.

The rider replacement facility turned out to be no replacement for Christian Hefenbrock, whose programmed rides produced no points whatsoever, although Troy Batchelor battled hard for four points as he replaced Ronnie Correy.

IPSWICH: Piotr Protasiewicz 11+1, Robert Miskowiak 11, Mark Loram 9, Kim Jansson 7+1, Daniel King 6+2, Chris Louis 5+2, Tobias Kroner 4+2.
WOLVES: Peter Karlsson 17, Fredrik Lindgren 13+1, Billy Hamill 5, Troy Batchelor 4, Magnus Karlsson 3+2, Barrie Evans 1, r/r for Christian Hefenbrock.
