SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 13TH JULY
13 July 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 SWINDON''S future has been thrown into doubt by a development plan from their stadium owners which would not involve speedway. The news has already sparked an outcry from supporters both locally and nationally with the club having a continuous 58-year history in the sport. Owner Terry Russell said: ''There''s no comment from me while I look at it all, but we are the second largest sport to the football ground.'' SPEEDWAY 2 OXFORD''S Ales Dryml is having further tests on the head injuries he sustained in an horrific crash at Cowley on Wednesday. The Czech star clipped the fence on the last bend of Heat 7 and the following Ronnie Correy had no chance of avoiding him. Dryml''s fellow racing brother Lukas and his father are due to arrive in the country on Thursday morning to be with the injured rider.
