SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 10TH JULY
10 July 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 BRITISH duo Simon Stead and Chris Harris are both just one meeting away from the 2007 Grand Prix Series. Stead and Harris came through their Qualifying rounds in Hungary and Slovakia respectively to move to the Final at Vetlanda, Sweden on August 19. The top three in that event will automatically qualify for next year''s GP along with the top eight from this season''s series and four nominated riders. SPEEDWAY 2 RELEASED Edinburgh star Rusty Harrison insists he is not withholding his services, and was prepared to continue with the club. Harrison missed his last two rides in last Friday''s home defeat by Rye House due to concerns over track conditions. He said: ''I did not ''walk out'', and am happy to continue riding for the Monarchs, but I received a phone call informing me that my services are no longer required.''
