VENHILL BRAIDED CABLES FOR YAMAHA STAR CRUISERS
09 July 2006 - Venhill Engineering Limited

Venhill, the British motorcycle control specialists, have created a range of superb quality braided steel cables for Yamaha’s popular range of Star cruiser motorcycles.

Not only will these braided cables enhance the appearance of the motorcycle, they also offer riders of these massive bikes long-lasting smooth operation of the clutch and throttle. The Yamaha Drag Star 1100, for example, weighs 272 KG and pumps out 85Nm of torque @ 2,500rpm (more than the R6 at 12,000rpm!) so light and responsive controls can enhance the riding pleasure.

The outer stainless steel braided cable has a clear PVC cover to protect paintwork and is nylon lined inside with a galvanised steel operating cable for smooth operation. These model-specific kits contain all necessary chrome plated fittings for complete replacement of clutch or throttle. Venhill offer owners two options, in either standard length and or plus 150mm (6”), aimed at riders who have fitted higher or wider bars.

Venhill produce braided cable kits to fit the Yamaha 650 & 1100 XVS Dragstar and 1700 Roadstar models. The Standard Braided Clutch cable kit sells for £24.67 inc. VAT and the Twin Throttle Kit (for push-pull models) is £49.50. The plus 150mm option costs an additional £1.77 per cable. With the custom bike market in the UK is growing at the rate of 20% year on year these kits should prove popular.
