WOLVES 41 EASTBOURNE 51
KO CUP 2nd leg - Eastbourne win 106-79 on aggregate

WOLVERHAMPTON were unable to make any inroads on Eastbourne''s 17-point first leg lead and crashed out of the Knockout Cup at Monmore on Monday evening.

Wolves simply had to make a flying start to have any chance, but the reverse was true as Eastbourne locked up the tie in the first half of the meeting.

The home side were beset by problems with Fredrik Lindgren coming to a halt whilst leading Heat 3 and Billy Hamill, riding with a knee injury sustained in Poland, falling in Heat 4.

The Eagles made hay as they provided eight of the first nine heat winners before Peter Karlsson and Ronnie Correy added some respectability in the later stages.

Wolves managed to outscore the visitors on genuine race points during the second half of the meeting, Peter Karlsson ending Nicki Pedersen''s hopes of a maximum in Heat 15, but the damage had been done by that stage and the Monmore men must now prepare for three vital matches in four days next week.

WOLVES: Peter Karlsson 14, Ronnie Correy 7+1, Magnus Karlsson 7+1, Fredrik Lindgren 5, Billy Hamill 4, Christian Hefenbrock 3+2, William Lawson 1.

EASTBOURNE: Nicki Pedersen 14, Adam Shields 10, David Norris 9, Lewis Bridger 8+2, Dean Barker 6+2, Edward Kennett 4+1, Cameron Woodward 0.
