SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 2ND JULY
02 July 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 ARENA-Essex boss Ronnie Russell says his side will be ready once again for the arrival of Peterborough on Monday. The Panthers were beaten heavily at Purfleet earlier in the season but have reportedly hired out the Rye House circuit for some small-track practice. Ryssell said: ''It would be nice to win in front of the television cameras, and I hope we can show everyone what we are about.'' SPEEDWAY 2 THE Isle of Wight have two riders on the injury list after a disastrous Northern tour so far. Ray Morton was concussed at Sheffield, and Jason Doyle sustained a possible broken bone in his hand during a heavy defeat at Workington. Islanders boss Dave Croucher said: ''We didn''t get to grips with conditions and with Jason ruled out, the end of the match couldn''t come quickly enough.''
