BIKE SHOW SET TO BE ROARING SUCCESS
08 September 2004 - Ross Valley Motorbike Show
BIKERS are revving up to take over a Lancashire market town on 19 September.
The 30-strong organising team of the Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show is confident the mix of stunts and spectacles, show bikes and stands will prove a winning combination to being the crowds back to Rawtenstall in Rossendale for the 12th year. Last year’s show attracted 60,000 people and raised £14,000 for local and national causes. This year’s show boasts Straightliners stunt team and the stunning X-treme trials display team. Burnouts, vertical jumps, wheelies and freestyle stunts will delight bikers and non-bikers. And the mini-moto on the town’s Asda car park will be as popular as ever. Cripsey’s Wall of Fear is set to be sold in October so the Rossendale show could be the last time people get to see the fearless display of tricks on the vertical wall. For the first time in years, a two-day rally is being held organised by Moto Guzzi for the show. For just £15, 350 people can camp for two nights, enjoy bands and entertainment, full facilities and have free entry to the show. To reserve a spot send a £15 cheque payable to Karen Hayes, 24 Sandholme Close, Giggleswick, Settle, North Yorkshire BD24 0AF with an SAE and name, address of bike owner, make and registration number. Ride-ins will leave Sherburn-in-Elmet, Devil’s Bridge, Rivington Barn and a vintage ride-in from near Blackburn. They converge on Winfields in Haslingden for the grand parade leaving at 11.30am of some 1,000 bikes, which starts the show. An open top bus will provide guests with a bird’s eye view of the show and the most unique T-shirts of any bike show, designed by schoolchildren, should prove a big hit.
