BRITISH GRAND PRIX / DONINGTON BEST START POSITIONS FOR RED BULL KTM GP 250 RACERS
01 July 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG

RR WCH 250 Round 9: (01.07.2006)

Both Red Bull KTM GP 250 racers Hiroshi Aoyama and Manuel Poggiali have grabbed the best grid positions yet in the still young history for KTM FRR 250. The 24-year-old ''Hero'' Hiroshi Aoyama starts tomorrow’s race from the front row from position three. Team colleague Manuel Poggiali from San Marino is just one row behind starting from place eight on the grid for the British Grand Prix.

The Donington circuit, with its fast concealed corners and two tight first gear curves makes it very difficult to find a good rhythm but that does not seem to be a problem for the KTM 250 riders. Both riders were among the eight fastest in the world from the first free training right up to the second qualification training.

Hiroshi Aoyama #4 Red Bull KTM GP 250 – 3rd Position – 1’32.421
“I am very happy about my place in the front row. Grid place three is my best qualification result in the KTM FRR 250. It went well for us right from the first practice and we’ve been able to constantly lift our game. I am very confident for tomorrow. We’ve done everything necessary to come up with a top result. Everything is perfect – chassis, engine, tyres.

Manuel Poggiali # 54 Red Bull KTM GP 250 – 8th Position – 1’33.245
“Start position eighth is my best result with KTM. I like the circuit at Donington Park, I feel good about the layout and the team has come up with a good bike. I need a good start for the race and then I can top my result from Assen.''

Circuit: dry
Air temperature: 19°C
