WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY: MATCH PREVIEW
30 June 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway
PETER Karlsson has been declared fit for Wolverhampton''s vital Knockout Cup quarter final tie at Eastbourne on Saturday. The skipper missed Wednesday''s heavy defeat at Belle Vue with an ongoing hamstring injury, but after three days'' rest the Swede is able to return. Wolves will, however, be without German youngster Christian Hefenbrock as he is competing in the World Under-21 Championship on home soil at Pocking this weekend. With Hefenbrock now in the top five under the new averages, Wolves will utilise the rider replacement facility with Ronnie Correy and the reserves eligible for extra rides in the first leg fixture. Eastbourne have a major doubt over David Norris, who missed the Eagles'' defeat at Swindon on Thursday with a trapped nerve in his arm. The match starts at the later than usual time of 8pm in order to give supporters chance to make it to the stadium after England''s World Cup quarter-final with Portugal. EASTBOURNE: David Norris or R/R, Edward Kennett, Dean Barker, Adam Shields, Nicki Pedersen, Cameron Woodward, Lewis Bridger. WOLVES: Peter Karlsson, R/R, Ronnie Correy, Fredrik Lindgren, Billy Hamill, William Lawson, Magnus Karlsson.
