XVS1300A MIDNIGHT STAR
30 June 2006 - Yamaha

Yamaha’s Next Generation Cruiser

Yamaha announce their first 2007 model; the all new XVS1300A Midnight Star. This machine has classic custom styling and features many technological innovations which move the cruiser genre to the next level.

Following in the ‘long and low’ styling tyre tracks of the recent XV1900, the XVS design is heralded as a ''Wild Streamliner'', inspired by the 1930’s US Custom bike and car scene.

The XVS houses a totally new, 1300cc short-stroke V-Twin powerplant engineered for maximum engine character and a high torque output.

The 60° angled cylinders produce a distinctive irregular firing order giving the motor its own ‘heartbeat’.

Although retaining classic air-cooled styling this cruiser is powered by an efficient watercooled engine. Vibration is minimised by utilising a new dual balancer system whilst the exhaust has been tuned to give a distinctive, low pulsing deep noise.

The XVS project team were also tasked with giving the new machine more focused handling, which they achieved by engineering a more balanced weight bias (48/52), effective braking systems and 41mm front forks that offer good rider feedback. The engine is now a stressed member of the new double cradle frame which translates to better rigidity and stability.

The sum of these parts is a cruiser that has been developed to handle, perform and sound better than any cruiser before without losing its traditional heritage or styling.

The XVS1300 expands the Yamaha ‘Star’ custom cruiser range which features the XV650 and XV1100 Dragstar’s and XV1900 Wildstar models.

The XVS1300A will be available in Official Yamaha UK dealers in December. Pricing will be announced later in the year.
