2007 YAMAHA MOTOCROSS
26 June 2006 - Yamaha Racing
We win, our customers win
Yamaha has been a major force in World Championship Motocross for four decades, and the company’s in-depth involvement in the sport is an integral part of our R&D programme. In fact, our support for World Championship motocross has never been greater – and our will to win has never been stronger! Stefan Everts – officially the world’s most successful MX rider – has completely dominated the World Championships this decade on board his factory Yamaha – and so far this season he looks like breaking even more records as he aims for an incredible tenth world title in 2006. The story is equally impressive in MX2, where Yamaha took total control of the 2005 championship, which witnessed team riders Antonio Cairoli, Andrew McFarlane and Alessio Chiodi taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall respectively. Yamaha’s strength in MX2 looks set to continue, with winning performances from Cairoli and Billy Mackenzie in the first part of the 2006 season showing that the YZ250F is still the bike to beat. Individual titles aren’t the only things that Yamaha has been winning! Because as well as securing both the MX1 and MX2 world titles in 2005, Yamaha also took the Manufacturers’ World Championship in both classes, underlining the company’s record-breaking achievements!
