PHILIPPA FORRESTER LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR BRITAIN''S MOTORING HERO

Today (September 8), television presenter, Philippa Forrester will launch anew award scheme, offering people the chance to say a special thank you tothose who use their cars for the benefit of others.

The new campaign, launched in association with Green Flag Motoring

Assistance, seeks to recognise motorists who selflessly use their vehicles

for the greater good of others and allows the public to say a special

thanks to their hero, by coming forward and telling their own unique story.

The year-long initiative, spearheaded by Philippa Forrester on behalf of

the breakdown assistance provider, begins today with a nationwide search to

find the ''Motoring Hero'' of 2004-05.

A panel of judges, including Philippa Forrester, will shortlist a selection

of deserving motoring heroes for the national title of the Motoring Hero.

The most deserving hero will not only walk away with this prestigious

award, but also win an all-expenses paid holiday to motor along Route 66 in

America.

Philippa says: ''This initiative is a fantastic idea and is the perfect way

to thank those special motorists who constantly put others first and use

their cars to make a real difference. There''s sure to be so many deserving

heroes out there, so we want people to come forward to tell us their

stories and nominate their own deserving motoring heroes.''

Green Flag''s motoring heroes could be those people in the community who

often play a part in saving lives and helping local communities, such as

paramedics, fire officers, district nurses, or they could be volunteers who

regularly use their vehicles to assist less able people, such as the

elderly, disabled or sick.

Alternatively, it could be a parent who children to after-school classes,

or a person who has helped someone in desperate need, such as an expectant

mother, or someone injured in an accident and in need of urgent hospital

attention. If you want to say a big thank you to your motoring hero, Green
