GERMAN GP SACHSENRING: KRUMMENACHER AS REPLACEMENT RIDER – ROBIN LÄSSER WILD CARD RIDER
25 June 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG
Red Bull ADAC KTM Junior Randy Krummenacher will start in the German Grand Prix on the Sachsenring on July 17,2006 to replace the injured Red Bull KTM GP 125 rider, Julian Simon of Spain. The GP Selection Committee did not issue a wild card for the 16 year-old Swiss rider. Leading the International German Championship (IDM) after three from eight races, Randy Krummenacher currently has 52 points (two wins, a third blown off the course by strong wind while leading the field). At the Italian Championship he won in a photo finish ahead of teammate Robin Lässer (Lässer’s best lap time 2’01.561, Krummenacher 2’01.779). KTM and Red Bull have decided that a replacement for Julian Simon, injured in the GP of Catalunya will come from the ranks of their congenial junior racers from their own junior program - the Red Bull ADAC KTM Juniors, as Randy was not taken in the starting list as a wild card rider. Also racing at Sachsenring will be Randy’s teammate, the 15-year-old German Robin Lässer. Robin came into the team Red Bull ADAC KTM Juniors as German champion of the ADAC Minibike Cup in the 2005 season. Currently Robin is second in the IDM and received his permission to race as guest starter from the German Motor Sport Federation (DMSB). ...
