WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY - 25TH JUNE
25 June 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway
WILLIAM Lawson returns to the Wolverhampton team for Monday''s crunch local derby clash with rivals Coventry. The young Scot made his comeback from a fractured elbow on Friday and scored 12 points for his Premier League club Edinburgh against Sheffield. Lawson''s recovery comes as a timely boost for Wolves who are seeking to recover from last week''s home defeat by Peterborough - and he enjoyed his best-ever Elite League score of nine (paid 12) against the Bees on Easter Monday. For the second week running, Wolves face opponents who are introducing a highly-rated Polish youngster for his debut as Coventry include recent signing Pawel Hlib. Hlib has been recruited by the Bees to replace Morten Risager, who is out with a broken leg, and he starts at reserve alongside former Wolves squad member Olly Allen. Wolves promoter Chris van Straaten said: ''It''s a critical time of the season for us. Any match against Coventry is always a must-win encounter, and I''m sure they see it that way too - and the form book does tend to go out of the window in the local derbies. ''Another home defeat would be a severe blow for us and we must ensure that doesn''t happen, but they will feel they need another away win so it should be a spectacular meeting.'' WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Ronnie Correy, Fredrik Lindgren, Billy Hamill, William Lawson, Christian Hefenbrock COVENTRY: Scott Nicholls, Martin Smolinski, Rory Schlein, Billy Janniro, Chris Harris, Pawel Hlib, Olly Allen.
