WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
04 September 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

WOLVERHAMPTON Speedway would like to remind supporters that their home meeting this week is taking place on WEDNESDAY and not the regular Monday.

Midland rivals Coventry Bees are the visitors in and eagerly awaited Elite League clash on September 8 starting at the usual 7.30pm. We will be issuing a full press preview for this meeting nearer the time with all the team news. DAVID Howe insists Wolverhampton have what it takes to go and repeat their Elite League title glory of two seasons ago. The Monmore men finished runners-up to Eastbourne in the regular league standings - and this season Poole have finished as leaders. But Howe warned: ''Everyone knew it meant nothing to finish top and we''re quite happy this year to let Poole run away and finish top, but we have to do it when it matters most. ''It''s getting tight for second place, but we''re still in there and things seem to be going to plan and the play-offs are where it all matters.''
